So I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of Batman/Danny Phantom fics.

So when Superboy Prime punched the universe (or whatever version of events you going with) Jason woke up in his coffin and at that very moment he was both dead and alive.
At that point he was a halfa.

But while Gotham might have more ambient ectoplasm then places like, say, Metropolis or Star City, it’s got nothing compared to Amity Park.
And it’s definitely nothing like having a portal to the ghost zone bast you in the face or open up directly on top of you.

So when Jason woke up he had the start of a ghost core but had no energy to switch to ghost form.

For anyone else, waking up buried six feet underground in a coffin would probably mean going from half ghost to full ghost pretty quick but as Robin he had enough skill to crawl out of the grave.

But from that, along with the injuries from when he died [and being hit by a car] he wasn’t in the best of shape.
A full ghost this damaged would probably be retreat back into their core to heal but since he was alive, and couldn’t change into ghost form, he did the living equivalent, which is a coma.

So he got patched up in a hospital as a John Doe, which helped the worst of his injuries, and there is some ambient ectoplasm in Gotham so he was getting better. Slowly.
Of course that just meant he went from a regular coma to a walking one, because unfortunately his body woke up faster than his mind did.

So he escaped the hospital and started wandering around Gotham as basically a zombie. Which would have been fine, since he was slowly getting better, except for the fact that he was found by the league of assassins.

Now the last thing an organization that kills people would want is any risk of their victims coming back for revenge. So their all their home bases and everywhere around the Lazarus pit is warded against ghosts. Any ectoplasm in the area is funneled directly to the pit so there’s no ambient energy around.

So Jason’s stops getting better.
He was stuck.

Now I’d like the fanon that the Lazarus pit is ectoplasm but I’d like to propose it’s not just ectoplasm.
Thin spots between the infinite realms and the living world are rare but not as rare as thin spots that open up directly over Ley lines. It’s the balance between the living and the dead that heals up the dying or just straight kills people. Possibly making the rage zombies what happens when the body is healed be that whatever part would have made a ghost was yeeted into the Ghost Zone so all that was left was corrupted ectoplasm.

So Jason gets chucked into the Lazarus pit.
Now normal people (if the survive) just go mad for a time. And no one has tried to put a ghost into the pit so who knows what’d happen (probably nothing good).

But Jason, though he doesn’t know it, is a human/ghost hybrid. So things go a bit wrong.

Good news is it does heal his body and gives him enough ectoplasm to boost his ghost core.
Unfortunately, either because of the anti ghost measures in place or because of the pit itself, his core was immediately under attack.

So he kind of get’s split in half.
Not like what Danny did with the Fenton Ghost Catcher, and certainly not that cleanly. Instead his ghost half get kind of suppressed down inside him.
And since he never even knew he had a ghosts half he doesn’t know there’s anything to fix.

For normal people pit madness fades but when you’re also dealing with half of yourself torn and stuffed into a ball where you can’t access it, it probably lingers a bit.
Also, since it’s not a clean split who knows what ghostly instincts a popping up that he has no clue how to deal with (or what human ones got stuffed into his core that he doesn’t relies are missing).

And I don’t actually know what happens next.

Does he stumble upon pure ectoplasm and finally get enough energy for his core to burst out of the seal.
Does a ghost (or a ghost weapon) blast him and start causing cracks in the seal so his ghostly self starts peeking through.
Maybe there’s a friendly magic user who tries and cleanse him of the Lazarus pit effects and, pop, suddenly he’s a ghost (and the magic user might be terrified that they might have accidentally killed him)

Heck maybe all of these things happen.

I don’t know I’m just gonna leave it here.

I like the whole the-citizens-of-Gotham-think-the-batfam-are-cryptids idea. But I also like the whole the-citizens-of-Gotham-are-all-jaded from how much they’ve had to deal with over the years.
So I kind of thought how that might work together.

Like, everyone’s pretty sure Batman was summoned from the depths of hell (or the darkest parts of Gotham, same thing). In fact, there’s a rumour going ‘round that the reason Batman never kills anyone is because one of the clauses he was summoned by means that if he very ended a life he’d be banished back to hell. But he’s a demon (or whatever) so he’s good a figuring out how to get around that.
The thing is, he’s obviously trying to pretend to be human.
There’s plenty of people he's met by now, regular citizens or victims he’s tried to reassure, that have seen him look like a guy in a costume. But he’s not fooling anyone. There are just too many crooks he’s beat up over the years. Telling stories about how he’s appeared out of the shadows, or dodged bullets, or just figured out fool-proof plans. No one really believes it.
I mean, look at his car. At some point he must have decided he needed one to get around but he obviously don’t know much about real cars. The batmobile looks more like a nightmare shaped into a vehicle then anything real. Even people who have manged to get a look inside have said it looks like something out of a movie or something.

The rest of the batfam are the same.

Nightwing is nice enough but he never seems to realise that normal people don’t just flip or cartwheel as easily as walking. Regular humans certainly don’t bend that way.

Red Hood dose an ok job at seeming like a regular thug from Crime Ally. Someone that has good aim that just put on a helmet and decided to be a criminal/vigilantly. But he knows a bit too much for someone who for all intents and purposes appears to have grown up on the streets. Anything from literature to languages.
And the people who have worked under him swear sometimes he forgets to breathe.

Black Bat does a terrible job of not behaving like a living shadow but she’s started to figure out human languages, so good for her.

Batgirl was always better than the others at seeming to be human, even back when she had red hair. Some people think she changed it so she would be mistaken for Batwoman (obviously some sort of vampire), it’s a pity she didn’t think to change her age right.

Someone must have told Red Robin that people live off coffee. It’s a pity he hasn’t quite figured out that much caffeine would give regular people a heart attack.

The latest Robin hasn’t really got the hang of curbing his bloodlust yet. There are a few people that prefer him to the earlier ones though. Frankly, being that happy to be beating up criminals was kind of creepy.

Signal obviously thinks he’s getting away with something by claiming he’s a Meta. Maybe because he seems to have light powers rather then the other’s shadow powers. Or maybe it’s just he’s in the daytime more and couldn’t think how else to hide.

Of course, all of them have a hard time remembering to make noise when they move and they can all disappear into shadows so they’re not really fooling anyone.

But if Gotham’s Eldridge horrors want to go around pretending to be human, the citizens aren’t going to call them out on it.
Gotham protects their own.

(The batmobile is ridiculously hi-tech, of course the inside doesn't look like a real car.
Dick's not quite a contortionist but he is ridiculously flexible.
The jacket might hide it a bit but Jason wears body armor, armor doesn't really move enough to show breathing.
The general public don't exactly know about Oracle & Spoiler was around before she got bat training but Batgirl people remember.
Cass is obvious.
Tim doesn't actually drink that much coffee, he just has a habit of making a cup, taking a sip & then getting distracted by something & letting it go cold.
Damian would not like to find out that some people consider him the less scary Robin.
Duke still thinks he's the normal one.)

xt1me: (Default)

So despite the fact that I haven't picked up a comic in years (and the fact I was more into Marvel then DC) I've been reading a bunch of Batfam fics recently.
And it just got me thinking, what habits have people got into from their superhero life that's a carried over to their civilian life that they don't even realize.

  • Like Bruce (unless he's hamming it up as Brucie) whenever he sits down he jerks his hand to the side. Adjusting the cape he's not wearing so he can sit down properly.
  • Give anything stick-like to Dick and he will twirl it. And if he's really not paying attention sometimes he'll try and holster it before putting it down.
  • Barbara will sometimes tap her armrests when talking to someone, as if she's using push to talk, even when the person is right in front of her.
She has definitely also tried to control+Z once or twice when she was writing with a pen and a piece of paper.
  • When Jason's annoyed, and wants people to know about it, he'll give a low quiet hum. Not something that's very audible unless it's backed up by a voice modulator, in which case it sounds like an inhuman growl.
  • When Tim's concentrating he'll tap an area around his eyes. It's an odd place to rub if you didn't know that's where the edge of his domino mask sits.
  • Whenever Stephanie hops or jumps, when she lands she does a little jerking motion with her head to make sure her hood stays on.
  • Cass's costume had a cloak when she was first learning ALS so now whenever she starts to sign she brings her hands up from straight in front of her, as if pushing it out of the way so her hands are visible.
  • Damian will, of course, constantly reach for his katana even if it's nowhere near him.
  • Duke ducks a little too much whenever there's something low hanging over him. It only took him a few times in his helmet to realize he had to compensate for the ear ridges on top and now he does it all the time.

I've pretty much run out of idea for this & I have no idea how many other members of the batfam there are so I'll just stop there.

I also came up with a nursery rhyme for the Robins.

Little Robin redbreast sitting on a wire,
Fly Robin redbreast, higher and higher.

Little Robin redbreast sitting on a car,
Poor Robin redbreast, flew too far.

Little Robin redbreast sitting on a shed,
Fly Robin redbreast, into sunset so red.

Little Robin redbreast sitting on a stick,
Poor Robin redbreast, you flew too quick.

Little Robin redbreast where is your flock?
Little Robin redbreast, we wish you good luck.

Each verse is for a different Robin, Dick, Jason, Tim, Steph & Damian.

So I’ve been reading a bunch of AssCreed college AU fic recently and I'm actually honestly surprised I haven't come across this yet.

Why hasn't anyone done a modern college AU where the assassins are all part of an Assassin's Guild? IE: that that assassin game which is basically like a modified version of tag. You know, where you get a group of college students give them a bunch of “targets”and when you “kill” a target you take their targets until there's only one person left standing. I’m pretty sure there’s other variations as well. But like you take down a target by either hitting them with an nerf gun or bopping them with a cardboard tube. Or maybe hitting them with water like with squirt guns or water balloons or something like that.
I think there's all different kinds of versions.

Surely you could do something where the assassins in the modern day you all know each other because they took part in one big game of assassin and decided it was fun and made their own Guild and had various different versions they play all throughout college.

Like I imagine Altaïr is very determined with his targets and he's great in methodically working down a list.

And Ezio would probably be good with multiple weapons and overwhelming an enemy like that, as well as possibly making alliances with other people.

And Connor will be great jumping out from down from a tree in or out form bush and springing on his target that way.

I’m not sure about the other assassins but I feel like Evie and Jacob are unstoppable when they team up but are thankfully quite happy to go after each other.

I had the idea that Desmond might not good as the others taking out targets but the first time he was last victim standing he managed to evade assassination for like 9 weeks and after that they decided to put a time limit on how long one game can go on for.

And, of course, all of them are good at parkour.

I also had an idea that they ware white because the have a game were they each have a washable marker and score points off how many marks they can give each other. Their version of the hidden blade perhaps?
I was thinking black for
Altaïr because he picked his first. Red for Ezio because, well, that's his colour. Blue for Connor for the same reason. Yellow/gold for Desmond because of the pieces of Edan. Purple for Arno because blue & red were taken and you can't have white. Maybe light green for Jacob & dark green for Evie just because they're one the most common colours in a marker pack that come in light & dark variations. Though I guess Shay would have had green before he dropped out to concentrate on his studies/join the Templars. I'm running out of colours & proper reasons for people to pick them, maybe Aveline got pink and Bayek got stuck with Brown? um, I have no idea of any of the others.

And, of course, the Templars are probably a frat because that seems to be the standard for collage AU’s. Either that or their all part of the MedRenSoc (medieval renaissance society) and their got in a feud for some reason. Maybe due to the fact they don’t feel like the Assassins are a proper club. Or maybe due to a fundraising event or something.

Anyway, I thought it would make for an interesting AU, maybe a one shot or something.

xt1me: (Default)

so I've often had the notion that if I used voice recorder dictation or something maybe I'd have a better chance of actually writing more. The hardest part of writing is always the actual writing part after all.
Editing is slightly easier, so if I just be spew out a wall of text maybe it'd be easier edit than actually trying plonk it out on paper manually.

I never got around to doing it, never looked into any software options. But today there was general meeting about accessibility awareness and all that at work and they pointed out there is a dictation button in their Word. So you know what? I figured I'd try it see how this goes.

I don't know if I’d ever actually write a story like this but you never know.
I figure let's try a fic idea and see how it goes.

So I I've been reading this really cool long fic called “Heroes of the Squared Circle” by Mithen.

It's a really cool AU fusion fic of DC heroes and professional wrestling. You know, the WWE type wrestling.
I have not watched wrestling in an age. When I was a little kid sure I watched it a bit but like yeah, that's a long time ago and I couldn’t really say I know much about it. I can recall some of the names & possible at a stretch a few moves but that’s about it.
I know enough that the good guys are known as Babyfaces or just Faces and the bad guys are called Heels and that’s where the phrase heel-face turn comes from.

But the great thing about fanfics is that some fantastic writers out there really make you invested in stuff you know nothing about. And I know about showmanship and theatre from when I did backstage work and stage-managing so it was a fun read.

The convoluted mess of comic book storylines really mesh well with the convolution mess of professional wrestling storylines.

But anyway.

In the grand tradition of tying everything back into whatever recent fandom you've dived into I was thinking of what a version of that with Assassin's Creed would be like.

Obviously I'll never write it, I don't know enough about either to have a go at it, but it’s fun to muse on.

So I think the dictaphone thing was a success. It seems to have churned out over 1500 words and after editing and fleshing things out it’s over 2500. Which means it did actually get me writing since without this experiment I would have done nothing.

I had to do a lot of editing however. I mean, a wall of text is not easy to read never mind the fact it didn’t understand what I was say a lot of the time.

And I did have to go back in and write whole swaths to make this more coherent. Still, I think it helps my spelling. It got a lot of words wrong, but they were all spelt correctly.

It was kind of hilarious what it kept thinking Ezio’s name was and I admit I just paused and put in fillers to fix later for some things I knew it was going to get wrong.
But I think I might try this again some time. I don’t know if I’ll ever write a full fic like this but it’s definitely a good place to start.

In response to a post on tumblr I was thinking of a way to have time travel or AU or stuff without having to worry about all the save the world business.

So a handwavy idea I had, if you want to have some sort of AU or time travel thing but don’t want to deal with the headache or paradoxes, is that the fist civ only had to get it right once.

The Eye didn’t just protect the earth it was activate one, it was much more powerful than that. It protected all the earths the flare hit.

Hello parallel universes.

Or maybe they were hedging their bets and while the were working on manipulating history to get the right guy in the right place at the right time there also had something running on the side to take advantage of a universe next door if their plans ever fell through.

Maybe there’s even a universe out there somewhere where they used time travel & alternative universes to make it so they were protected from the first flare. So there at least one world where they weren’t all wiped out.

Which gives you a convoluted reason for having time travel exists in a fic without having explain why they never used it to fix their own mess. They did but because they need Desmond to active the Eye, it means the whole of human history had to exist somewhere so everything had to happen as per the games at least once.

So maybe the fist civ are only looking at the game timeline because once you start look at outside variables it gets too confusing. Or maybe it that if they see a different path, it means that they are no longer in the game timeline so they can no longer affect it. So they concentrate on the use-another-universe’s-success-to-fix-our-own plan.

So maybe it’s less they can’t see after the eye or if Desmond time travels and more that they don’t care, since a still living or time traveling Desmond isn’t their problem/solution anymore.

(I hope this make sense to other people, I’m not sure I can explain this very well)

xt1me: (Default)
So here’s another crossover idea based on the slimiest of connections.

In Assassin's Creed you have the Brotherhood of Assassins but in the DC universe you have the League of Assassins

So here’s an idea on how to mix things together.

In the AssCreed universe you have the Isu and the McGuffins (err, I mean the Pieces of Eden) but there’s no Lazarus Pit.
So let’s say back in Altair’s time Ra's al Ghul (or whatever his original name was, I’m not too clear on his origin story) was a member of the brotherhood but he betrayed them or did something and was killed. There’s no resurrection for him here so it’s not an issue but Altair probably knew him.

Fast forward a few centuries and the main game plots & we get up to the end of AssCreed 3.

Let’s use the old fandom standby of lets-ignore-what-actually-happed,-the-Eye-just-sent-Desmond-somewhere for a nice easy way for a crossover.

So now we’re in the Batman’s universe. I don’t know which DC universe would work best (comics, movies, games, cartoons) probably some basic comic version. But anyway, in this universe there’s no pieces of Eden, maybe there was never any Isu to begin with or maybe there’s no world ending flare so no muti-centurey plot.
But it does have the Lazarus Pit which Ra's al Ghul finds & uses & takes out the existing Brotherhood in Altair’s time & makes the League.

All this because I want a scene where Desmond ends up in the League of Assassins, sees what they’re like, and like all his ancestors are so disgusted by an assassin order acting with Templar methodologies he channels Altair to dress down Ra's like he’s a little b*tch.

Listen, Ra's is the kind of villain that gets his power mostly from the fact that he’s an ancient head of a large group that pretty much worships him. It’s not his fighting ability or even the fact that he doesn’t stay dead that makes dangerous, not really. That’s why he’s a good batman villain. The simple matter is, he just doesn’t see many people as his equal (which is why he’s so stuck on Bruce).
I just like the idea of Ra’s coming across this American that says he’s an assassin but not one of his, when he suddenly recognises him as the head of the order his league was based on. An order he probably tried to erase any mention of its existence when he was kicked out. And the guy seems to know it, disparaging him for all his mistakes and his illegitimacy for even calling himself an assassin.

Can you just imagine Altair calling Ra's al Ghul a novice.

Of course Ra's losing his temper is obvious but unlike the superhero’s he usually deals with this guy has no problem just killing Ra’s & escaping.

He doesn’t stay dead of course, but I think after Desmond finds out about the Lazarus Pit & makes a few comments about how he doubts someone would likely come back if the body was burned to ash he probably decides to stay away.

Kind of like a cat that missed a landing, pretending one lone assassin is beneath his notice and going back to fighting people sworn not to kill.

Desmond ends up in Gotham of course. The only assassin group out there is the League so he’s not getting involved in that so he goes back to bartending. But there not a lot of places that don’t look for ID while hiring so he ends up working in the Iceberg Lounge.

Since he’s not one to be phased but all the wired goings on in the Gotham nightlife it’s probably a good fit for him.

He’s also not intimidated buy the Bat’s, the first time he sees Robin he just straight up says he’s not serving alcohol to minors. But it’s not like he’s loyal to the Penguin. If he catches wind of anything major, like plans to explode orphanages or poison water supplies he’ll just spill. But he’s also not one to volunteer information either so he ends up in this weird grey area where nether side know quite what to do with him. He’s not braking any laws so he Bat bunch can’t do really do anything. And he’s perfectly able to defend himself against the Rouges, lethally so if necessary, something that they can tell. Maybe Clatface tried to rough him up as a kind of hello while disguised as someone else & is completely surprised with a blade through the neck & asks how did Desmond know it wouldn't kill him. And Desmond just says he didn’t. And he gets left alone after that.

Maybe he can talk to Damion at some point about the tenants of his assassin brotherhood. Or Jason.

He probably channels his ancestors every now and again, but in Gotham that’s hardly out of the ordinary. I imagine not begin constantly put into the Animus possibly helps him a bit with the bleeding effects.

Batman probably thinks he’s delusional but it’s not like he’s doing anything criminal enough that could land him in Arkham.

I’m not sure where this’d actually go other then him enjoying a wired retirement watching the strange goings on in the DCU.

idk
xt1me: (Default)

So I’ve been re-reading the Murderbot Dairy’s because the new book is coming out soon. I’ve also recently dived down the rabbit hole of Assassin’s Creed fic because of esama.

So obviously I was thinking of how an Assassin's Creed/Murderbot crossover would go.

In the Murderbot Dairy’s SecUnits are constructs made of mechanical parts combined with organic tissue from cloned human DNA. They’re made by big corporations and controlled by governor modules that punish them if they don’t follow orders and prevents them from going rogue.

The main character, Murderbot, hacked it’s governor module but doesn’t want to do anything other than watch entertainment media. It keeps getting put in situations where it has to save people all the while insisting that it doesn’t care, really.

It’s a great series.

And, of course, Assassin’s Creed has the big company Abstergo Industries who’s using genetic memories stored in Human DNA for their nefarious purposes. And they canonically have Desmond's DNA on file.

So it wouldn’t be stretch to say in the future Abstergo, or whatever corporate body they turn into, decide to use cloned material from Assassins to make SecUnits. AssassinUnits if you will (or maybe not, because that shortens to AssUnit which make it sound more like they're ComfortUnits AKA SexBots). The whole genetic memory thing probably is something that they want to take advantage of. Or maybe it happens accidentally.

Of course Assassins are big believers in free will so that’s going to bite them in the ass.

You could have various Units unlocking the memories of specific Assassins so it's a good excuse for have all the game protagonists in the one place.

I mainly just like the fact that both SecUnits and Assassins have arm weapons. Assassins with their hidden blade & SecUnits with energy weapons.

Heck, Murderbot even mentions that it like hoodies (mainly because it’s part of the first clothes it ever actually buys, but still.)

Like usual I don’t have any real plot for this but whatever.
xt1me: (Default)

So I’ve been reading though esame’s fics on Ao3 (re-reading in a lot of cases) which I highly recommend. But you know where you read a fic from one fandom & then you read a fic from another fandom & suddenly you want a crossover. They’ve done a lot of crossovers, which I’ve been enjoying, but they haven’t done this one. Maybe because, like me, they can’t think of anything resembling a plot.

I’m talking about an Assassin's Creed/Naruto crossover.

I mean Assassins = Shinobi is pretty obvious and the eagle vision an being a dōjutsu and the whole genetic memory could be a kekkei genkai or something. But I don’t know where you’d go from there.

I mean you could have a fusion but if it was more set in the Assassin's Creed world you’d probably have to get rid of the flashy Jutsus to keep the tone. Setting it more in the Naruto world could be fun, having all the assassins running around but, again, what on earth would the plot be?

Of course, you could always have just a straight up crossover with the whole “of course Desmond’s not dead he just got transported to another universe with the eye” thing, which is an easy way to set up a crossover.

If that was the case I’d think that, unless you use some precursor BS to handwave it, then he wouldn’t have chakra. Or at least very little. After all ninjas get trained from pretty young to use theirs. So even if he does manage to get training he probably wouldn’t be able to do any of the really flashy stuff. And he might have trouble getting the hang of hand seals.
But I think he could still be pretty badass (I mean Rock Lee can do it).

I’m pretty sure eagle vision can’t be fooled by clones or kawarimi techniques and that. And I think being registered as only a civilian would make it easier to act like an actual assassin so more sneaky then to anime protagonist type stuff then happens in the show.

I just have the idea of someone thinking of him as ‘having the chakra reserves of a genin but moves like an ANBU’ or something.

Meh, it’s just vague idea I was musing on. Like I said, it’s kind of going nowhere.

And then, because I still had the template I made for ANBU masks so I messed around made this.

ANBU masks

Messing about in Photoshop again.
An idle though after reading some Naruto fic; what would various YouTubers masks would be if they were in ANBU. (the masks are a bit more based on the hunter nins then the main ANBU forces but whatever)

I Kind of had the idea that their dark Egos where like their ANBU aliases and they'd have have some sort of low level genjutsuor something to give them an aura that helps hid there identity further. Like Anti would be glitchy & Dark would have his 2-tones thing and Mare would have mist/fog. I kind of ran out of ideas for Blank & Mad, maybe some sort of bluing effect for Blank & IDK fire or something for Mad. The idea was it should be more of a sort of outline type of thing that would also help in a fight by making it just that bit harder to see were the person actually was.
Maybe it was done by a seal on the masks so they don't waist chakra in a fight.

xt1me: (Default)

Well, I was having a terrible time recently. Everything seems to be sorted now but after all that I think I’m going to try typing out a self-indulgent not!fic.

ExpandRamble behind cut )

***

I don’t know who else to add for now so I think I’ll leave this here.
I have a soft spot for backstage stuff & misdirection so I like the idea of all the mobs outside of
Youtubia leaving them alone because they get the reputation of being basically NightVale (not that the higher-up’s of the rival gangs admit to it or anything), something most of the citizens in there either don’t realise or actively encourage.

xt1me: (Default)

So I was reading sit back and watch the world go by and thought about doing my own version of the humans-are-space-orcs story with other YouTubers.

I did read the Spaceiplier AU and while I took some inspiration from it, this should be obviously different.

As usual I don’t feel up to actually writing a proper fic for this.

Ok this thing is over 5,000 words now; I think I’ll end it here.

They all managed to track down the others and may or may not be able to get home but I don’t have a plot so that’s it.

(Things for aliens to freak out about: Jack & Nate’s tattoos & ear gauges. The fact that Ethan can backflip. MatPat finding some diet coke being used as a high-grade acid and chugs the whole thing. Them finding out that Mark’s foot thing isn’t a human thing but just a him thing.)

xt1me: (Default)

I was meandering around the internet the other day when I came across a fanart of Jack & Anti as Jedi & Sith and I was reminded of an idea I had for a Star Wars/YouTuber fusion I had completely forgotten about.

Now I’m hardly an expert on Star Wars fandom. I haven’t even seen all the movies yet. Let alone all the tv series, cartoons & novelisations that may or may not be still considered cannon.

But you can’t read a bunch of fic in a fandom and not pick up some things and I’m not going to try and turn this into a proper fic anyway so it doesn’t matter.

Set back before the prequels just because there were an abundant of Jedi around for our YouTubers to be.

Let’s start with Jack since it was a fan art of him that reminded me of this idea.

Jack’s twin brother died either in the womb or just after they were born. They were both strong in the force so he became a force ghost.

As soon as Jack learns to speak, he’s more likely to be talking with his imagery friend Anti than anyone else.

And then he gets sent to the Jedi temple and eventually someone catches on.

This person sees the force ghost of Anti hanging around as the ultimate form of attachment and manages to scare Jack about becoming a Sith. Or maybe they are kinder about it and explain how you are supposed to let go into the force and not be selfish and keep people from moving on. Either way, Jack gets convinced to say goodbye to Anti. Anti even agrees since they’re both just little kids, they believe things adults tell them. They don’t want to be bad. But they’ve been together their whole lives, no matter how convinced they are of doing what’s right there a part of both of them that doesn’t want to let go. So instead of becoming one with the force, little baby Anti just hides deep inside Jack and sleeps. If there’s any conscious decision behind it he probably just figures he’s just going to wait until Jack also become a force ghost and they’ll join the force together.

So Jack grows up as a normal temple child, he’s a little loud & rambunctious but in time he becomes a padawan and heads off for his first mission with his master.

Oh, maybe his master should be Robin (pixlpit). That’d be fun.

Anyway, Jack’s first mission is helping on a planet struck by some wired plague. The rich can afford the vaccines of whatever but the workers can’t. They’re there with medicine and to try to help talks as the workers strike or something. (BTW I really did think of this way before the current pandemic so don’t read into to this.) They aren’t there for long when it all boils over and there’s a riot and Jack gets separated from Robin. He ends up running to the middle of nowhere and starts to get sick from the plague thing. Jack’s not too worried at first since he knows if he can just get back to Robin he can get cured and things will be fine but it seems like this thing effects force abilities so instead of being able to find his way back he becomes even more lost. He’s getting sicker & sicker and just before he passes out he manages to stumble onto some sort of secret base.

And the Sith living there recognises him as a padawan and kidnaps him.

I was thinking of the plague being some sort of parasite that effects the eye, with a creature that starts grown in the eye socket and at the last stage of the disease it bursts out leaving it’s victims to bleed out if the don’t get help and certainly losing the eye. The creature then joins the swarm to go on to attack other lifeforms and the cycle continues.

Only it turns out that it’s not actually a natural parasite. The Sith that kidnaps Jack was trying to create some sort of stealth servant that he could use to infect people with and/or control them. Only it turns out he’s not really much of a Sith. He actually was an angry biologist that stumbled onto some sort of Sith archive wile studying the planets fauna. A Sith Holocron opened up for him and indoctrinated him into the way of the Dark Side but the guy really wasn’t all that powerful. Darth Sidious and the rest don’t even know about him because his scam with the eyeball parasite is his first one and it’s got him nowhere so far.

But now he’s kidnaped a padawan so if he can get the kid to fall to the Dark Side he’ll have an apprentice and thus be a real Sith, right?
The Holocron may be constantly mocking Darth Loser for being so bad at everything.

Also the parasite that pops out of Jack is defective and decides to hang around the padawan instead of infecting others (It’s Sam. I may have a bit of a running theme of how he appears in my fics huh)

So Jack is stuck with Darth Loser and in massive amounts of pain because it doesn’t matter how nice Sam ends up being the little guy still burst out of his head. Maybe Darth Loser gives him a cyborg eye if he’ll be his apprentice or maybe Jack gets one later but right now he’s still kind of delusional and the hideout they’re in is shielding him from the force. And Darth Loser stats torturing him and stuff.

So Anti wakes up.
He makes sure Jack stays asleep and takes up Darth Loser on being his apprentice. He has no loyalty to the Jedi, he was still a little kid when he went ‘asleep’. It’s easy for Darth loser to stoke that into hatred. So Anti learns all he can but eventually realises just how much of a loser the guy really is and in the great tradition of the Sith kills him and strikes out on his own. But now he’s no longer being shielded Robin finds him and Jack wakes up.

If I was actually writing this I’d have to figure out how long it takes Jack to realise what happened and when the rest of the Jedi find out but I don’t have much of a plot to go with this other then the fact the Jedi council end up basically grounding him in the temple. After all, he may have a Sith in him but Jack’s still a Jedi so there is not much they can do about it.

Jack ends up with a bunch of the older problem younglings.

Like Mark.
The jedi temple has a lot of Sith artefacts hidden away. Some of which can only be accessed by using the Dark Side so they’re hidden away. But some of them can also be accessed but blood relatives of the Sith who made it. After all, the Sith don’t give up attachment like Jedi. During a tour of the archives or something Mark accidently opens one. When the Jedi masters investigated they discovered that Mark was actually a descendent of a Sith so can access a bunch of their stuff. The Jedi council is left in an odd position because of that since Mark isn’t Dark himself but can now help the archivist with getting info on the Sith. But the Darkside is dangerous so they can’t just let Mark follow the normal path of Jedi and so keep him in the temple.

I could possibly tie this back to Jack and say the Sith Holocron he has is Mark’s ancestor. The ancestor is totally Darkiplier btw.

Warfstache is some smuggler or something Mark bumps into that acts like he knows him and Dark but never gives any straight answers and always disappears if a Jedi Knight is around.

This all a great set up for a plot I do not have.

You know, when I originally thought of this idea I think I started with Game Grumps.

So I don’t know much about the other force users in the extended universe but I think there’s a group of Dark Side users that aren’t Sith called the Nightsisters. I think I remember hearing that they are a matrilineal society so the man are below them but are used as guards and stuff? I’m not sure. I think Darth Maul is one of them.

Whatever, I guess if I was writing this I’d find out more info or make up a different group but my idea was that Danny was a Nightbrother and so was Ninja Brian. Only Brian figured really early on that Danny was never going to cut it, he was too nice, so he smuggled Danny off to be ‘found’ by the Jedi. Maybe falsifying documents or something to get around being too old to train. Danny is happy in the temple but he still meets up with Brain in secret sometimes. I don’t think the Jedi council knows about it but maybe they suspect something so he’s kept with the other troublesome younglings.

Arin, on the other hand, had a fairly normal Jedi upbringing but he figured out for himself that he’d never make a Jedi Knight. He likes anger too much. (He has a pink lightsabre, because of course he does, but that’s a little too close to red for peoples comfort). He’s never actually used the Dark Side, he just yells a lot, so he was never kicked out or anything but he’s pretty much just waiting to age out and go his own way. He’s not too bummed about it, it’s the will of the force and all that.

I haven’t figured out what other YouTubers should be in this. Is MatPat a padawan who fell in love and is thinking of leaving the order to marry?

Is Nate there? Maybe deciding music is better than the force and thinking about leaving as well.

Is Ethan just a clumsy kid how no amount of meditating will calm down?

I don’t know.
But they would all be in the same ‘lets keep an eye on them’ group in the temple so they’d all know each other.

I did have an idea that some sort of plot could be kicked off when Anakin goes and destroys the temple and kills all the younglings. They were in there own area, because there just a bit too much trouble to keep with the regular kids, and manage to sneak out in all the chaos. The ones with access to Dark Side stuff cover the rest from Darth Vader and the empire as they escape.

I have no idea what would happen then. Space adventures as they avoid the empire I guess. Maybe the group becoming some sort of wired mix of Dark & Light side force users.

I don’t know, that’s all I got.

So I wasn’t going to add to this but I had an idea about Ricky Goldsworth & I felt bad about not saying more about Ryan.

So Ricky is the only ghoul that manged to get past Shane’s disbelief filed.

When they visited the Waverly Hills Hospital Ryan was so busy freaking out at the ball landing by his name & Shane’s too busy mocking him with the ‘I love Pot’ graffiti that neither of them thought about the other name on the wall. (Across from Ryan’s name & above the Pot message).

I don’t know if Rick is actually a demon or not but he’s probably not very strong. He tried to take over Ryan but for all the guy believes in the supernatural he also believes in enough of defences against them to carry holy water with all the time so it not easy.

Ricky hid deep down to try and gather his strength. Between Ryan’s belief in the defences he had & Shane’s disbelief in ghouls in general Ricky was stuck. But then Shane actually gave him a name.

Because Shane thinks it’s a bit his disbelief couldn’t stop him but at the same time it prevents him from not acting like it’s not a bit, not really. So Ricky can only grab moments of freedom & can’t actually do anything & Ryan’s none the wiser.

So something like the theory from the post-mortem but Ricky’s trapped in the bit now & can’t get out of it.

Ok, so I‘ve finished binge watching BuzzFeed Unsolved & as much as I like fandom's whole Shane’s actually a demon bit & he scares other demons away from Ryan I think it’s funnier if he totally human and still scares demons away from Ryan.

Hear me out.

So, say demons need belief in order to manifest. That’s why they always start out as just noise that could be rats or the birds or the wind or something. Why they usually manifest at night & in already creepy places. They more you start to imagine that there could be something else around the more power they have to manifest. And yeah, you could also believe in things that could stop them, anything from religious symbols to pulling the covers of you bed over your eyes, as long as you believe in them they can affect you. And they love feeding on fear.

So Ryan pretty much attracts them like moths to a flame. Only Shane refuses to believe in them. He’s never seen any evidence that couldn’t be explained away since he doesn’t believe enough in them for them to be able to do something that couldn't be explained away. It a catch 22 type deal.

And all the while Ryan is there believing enough that he’s like a buffet & demons can’t do anything about it.

How about, when they went to the Sallie house, the demon there was going to just try for Ryan but Shane was quite literally asking for it when he lay down on that pentagram. The Sallie demon considered itself as pretty strong and emboldened by all the fear from Ryan decided that it’ll just make Shane believe in it enough to manifest & wreck shit up. While it couldn’t appear physically yet the fact that the 2 of them were staying the night meant it could invade their dreams.

Ryan is too afraid to sleep & Shane pissed it off so it goes for Shane. It does the whole ‘cower mortal I shall devour your soul’ thing. Dreams being easier to go straight to the big stuff then reality. Only for Shane to just go ‘huh’. It turns out even in dreams he doesn’t believe in any of it. Now the demon is really mad. It’s all ‘I’m a big scary demon, be afraid’. But Shane is all, ‘no your not, I’m obviously dreaming’. Which is pretty cool since if he knows he’s dream then it means he’s lucid dreaming and he always wanted to try that. At this point he almost ignoring the demon who decide that screw how much energy it’d take this guy is going down. Only to find out he’s trapped. Looking down it sees it’s in a devil trap. It yells at Shane asking ‘what the hell it this?’ Shane just says it was something Ryan was going on about & he thought it was appropriate to be in a dream about a demon. The Sallie demon is now incredulous as well as angry, this wasn’t even a proper trap, the writing around it was gibberish. Shane admits he doesn’t actually know anything about demon traps but this was his dream so what he says goes. The demon is left gaping, humans were not supposed to realise this. Then Shane decide he’s had enough of all this & tells Sallie that it should go get stuck in a box. The last thing the Demon sees in the dream before getting locked away is Shane wondering how you figure out how to fly in a lucid dreams.

Ryan nopes out & it wakes Shane up from his dozing & he forgets all about his dream as he mocks Ryan. But even though he doesn’t realise it, he now has a demon trapped inside him.

The demon’s pretty locked away, it can’t affect Shane because the guy doesn’t believe in it & locked inside a mortal it can’t affect anything around it. It can talk to other demons if they get close enough though.

It tried to get the Goat-Man to help but once Steve finds out what happened to Sallie it decides he is not messing with these guys. I guess it really is their bridge now.

Sallie calls the Goat Man a wimp which is when he realises he can get Shane to say things. Unfortunately, it's only things that Shane was going to say anyway so it’s not actually any help. It’s not even as coherent as the bagel vine (‘what do you what to eat?’ ‘the souls of the innocent’ ‘a bagel’ ‘no!’ ‘2 bagels’)

This is why Shane makes that threat to Annabelle. Shane thinks he’s just joking around as usual but Sallies trying to warn it’s fellow demon.

The Goul Boys are a trap.

In the way of plot bunnies, I thought of this while doing my last idea for a fic I’ll never write.

In the spirit of the month this is not just a fic-I’ll-never-write but NaNoWriMo-I’ll-never-write.

I seriously do not have the time, patience or stamina to write a novel in a month. But I do have a vague outline for something that resembles a plot.

I stumbled across a meme on tumblr saying how Phantom is a grown-up Natemare & this somehow spiraled from that.
(this has nothing to do with the Summoned Creatures fic idea I had)

Since this vague outline alone is over 6,000 words long you can see how much work this’d be to make into an actual story. Especially since most of this is world building & the plot ideas I have are very vague. Showing the descent into unthinking monster and then into inhuman beings while keeping each character ‘voice’ distinct is a challenge I’m really not up too. Also, if I was going to put in that much work, I’d just scrap all the YouTuber stuff to make everyone an OC & turn it into a real novel. But I write for fun, I don’t have time for that.

As usual, if this inspires anyone, please play with it was you will.

I hope this was interesting to read anyway.

I had an idea for a DCA fic in my head for a while now but it was just so hard to start writing it.
In an effort to just get it on paper I wrote out an outline.
I was sorely tempted to just leave it as a fic idea but I knew it was short enough that there was really no excuse not to just get it down.

I wrote the outline out in a few minutes since I had already worked out the plot. But it's taken me the last few days to get the fic out.
I am so slow at this.

I'll post the fic tomorrow. I want to go over it a few more times to proof read it even though I know I'm still going to miss mistakes.

This is the outline I wrote:

The last week sucked but since I was working the weekend I had time to write something.

I kind of felt like this series should be a trilogy but unlike the last 2 times I don’t really have even an outline of a plot for this one.

All I have is a scene.

So I was randomly clicking though ego pics on DeviantArt the other day & I came across this one:

So of course I started to think what the Weapons & Semblances Darkiplier, AntiSepticeye, MadPat & Natemare would have.

Now weapons in the RWBYverse tend to be able to switch from a ranged weapon to a melee one. One of these guys actually has one of these thanks to the FnaF musical so let’s start with MadPat.

He has a Chainsaw/Flamethrower. Ok, it was more like a hedgetrimmer in the musical but a chainsaw sounds cooler. Although maybe a flamethrower isn’t enough range, maybe it should also be a rocket launcher.
I like the idea of scientist character being more meticulous & precise but let’s face it, He’s a mad scientist. He makes a mess.

I don’t know what his semblance should be. I’m tempted to go with the more predictable Technokinesis so he can manipulate technology with his mind. But I also kind of like the idea of taking inspiration from the musical again & give him some sort of Geokinesis (earthbending) so he can knock down walls.

The next person to have a canon weapon is Anti with his knife. I don’t know if he should have pair of them in an automatic pistol/dagger combo kind of like Ren’s from RWBY (But obviously looking different) or go one oversized knife that turns into a gun. I like the idea of the gun being an automatic because it kind of matched the staticky way Anti talks (if you stretch the metaphor a bit).

Of course his semblance would be the way he glitches about. I’d guess some sort of teleport ability. I like the idea of making it some sort of destructive type of teleport where he can chose to damage things he moves though, maybe if he uses dust or maybe not.

For Dark, I don't think he’s ever had a weapon but he has had a cane. So I immediately though ‘sword cane’. Not so much a sword that comes out of a cane as a cane that turns into a sword. He’s seems the type to want an elegant weapon so a thin blade like a rapier would suit him. He also loses his temper so I like the idea of his range weapon being something less controlled, like a shotgun. I was thinking something less like Torchwick’s weapon and something more like Weiss’ with shotgun shells instead of dust. Or maybe if we go back to the sword coming out of the cane idea the sheath/stick can turn into his shotgun.

His semblance would have to be shadow powers of some sort. I like the idea of both him and Anti have teleport powers of some sort, so he could move around in darkness. It could be something they both argue about. Anti may be more destructive but he can’t teleport other people & Dark can.

As for Natemare, I know the joke for anyone who can play guitar is to give them an axe but I don’t know. Maybe it just felt too obvious. In the Mangled vid the only other thing he holds is a microphone, there had to be a way to make that a weapon. And then I though, a whip. The more I thought about it the more I liked the idea because the whip is the first man-made object ever made to break the sound barrier & Natemare would defiantly have sound powers of some sort. I don’t have a good idea for the range weapon though, maybe just a pistol (insert lame pistol whip joke here). Especially if his semblance could be ranged.

I don’t know if going for a siren song thing or going for something like a banshee scream would be better. Maybe some sort of frequency manipulation thing that allows him to do both?

I don’t know.
That’s just my ideas.
