who steals from a church?!!

xt1meAt mass today the priest mentioned that someone came in during the night and stole a relic of St. Patrick that was being kept there. It was set in a bronze cross and doesn't actually have much monetary value. But it's a holy symbol that's used for blessings with it on St. Patrick's day. Who would want that?
I guess the brose looked sufficiently shiny enough to be mistaken for gold but come on. They didn't even go to the collection box, which probably would be worth more.
Still, I guess expecting logic from someone who would steal from a church is asking too much.
I hope the catch the guy. They got footage of him on the cctv but he was wearing a hooddie.
I hope the at least get the cross back.
