So awhile back there was a steam sale on the first 3 Faraway games.
I remembered playing a version of Faraway on Kongregate years ago and I remembered I liked the puzzles and graphics were nice so, since is was cheap, I figured I'd buy them.

The first thing I realised was that I was getting a motion sick.

Turns out, "Faraway Director's Cut" is fully 3D. As in you walk around to go to each puzzle. The old demo/game was faux 3D, as in the graphics were 3D but you would only see one view at a time. Moment was done by clicking at the side or each screen or clicking the puzzle. Like the old school escape from the room games.
Much easier for me to handle.

That kind of sucked since I could only really do one level at a time before getting too sick.
(God Damn first person POV)

Still, I view had most of the game finished for a while now but I was missing a pieces for one of the hidden levels. I even looked up a bunch of walkthoughs so I managed to work out the piece I was missing was on level 3. But I still couldn't find it.
(Having to re-do levels is bad enough but doing a them motion sick was torture)

Turns out, you have to glitch through a wall to find the piece.

Every other puzzle, even the "hard" ones, were at a nice casual difficulty setting. Having to glitch through a wall when you have never had to do that before is just cruel.

I would have really liked this game if they had just left it be able to navigate the old way.

I would recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle games and doesn't get motion sick though. Just, on level 3, if you go up the broken pillar to a cliff, walk straight into the wall and wiggle your mouse a bit to find the rock you need to click on the ground to get the key piece.

Oh! And the first door is a click and drag rather then just a click which they don't tell you anywhere.

I have submitted my final project for my Web Development class. (It's here for however long the UCC servers keep it up.)
There's plenty more I could do if I had more time; adding a log in screen, a comments section, fix some area's in the game. Heck, if I wasn't in such a rush to get everything done I could have actually worked on a plot form the thing instead of just throwing together a generic Room Escape clichés. (It's a pity I couldn't work in some looked boxes & passwords though)
Still, it's done now.

One of the uncles got the cork version of monopoly for Christmas so we played it today after we all meet up for our traditional St. Stephen's day meal.

There are two things I want to say about the game.

First: it's not actually a cork version of monopoly, it's a bunch of tourist hot spots in cork slapped onto a monopoly board. There aren't even that many cork streets in it, just locations. And it's all very politically correct.

Second: It has basic design flaw that I can't believe was missed. Of the four railway stations, (in this four transport areas; bus station, airport etc) three of the have photos of there respective locations and one has the traditional clip art train. Of the two utilities, one has the clip art of the light bulb and the other has a small photo of the location like the transport cards. HOW DID THEY MISS THIS? It has to be a mistake, there is now way they could have planned to make it so you can no longer tell at a glace what type property cards you own. It's stupid.

I honestly wouldn't recommend buying this, it doesn't feel like a lot of thought went into it. Your better off getting the original or making your own version. As a monopoly version of a city were you like it falls short.

Still monopoly is a fun game and is a classic for a reason so it's not like we didn't have a good time. It was getting late as we played it so we had to end a bit early so I don't know how fairly I won but I had the most amount of money and the most hotels on my property so I won by a comfortable margin. So I'm happy.
