This one doesn't really have a story just an overwhelming sense of relief that I finally passed. Part of the reason I took me so long to pass was simply because it took me awhile to start learning to drive.
I've never liked cars. I get motion sick easily.
I passed the theory test second time round (I was missing one right answer to pass first time) and then decided to forget about it for awhile. The reason for this was mainly because it used to be that for your first provisional/learners licence you had to have some one in the car with you but after that you were ok. Since I knew if I had to do all my driving with someone else (family) in the car I'd crack up, I decided to wait. But then the law changed so it didn't matter how many years you were a learner you had to have a driver in with you. After that I just didn't bother until I needed proof of an upcoming test to renew the license. Three tests and a bunch of instructors later and I finally passed.
I never have to worry about it again.
Of course, now it's pretty obvious just how few people on the road actually drive properly.
