xt1meI just got my package from Thinkgeek.com (3 products, 1 envelope, .3lb) only to be charged and additional fee that was nearly 90% of what I paid for the product already. And that included the shipping, which was already over 100% that the products themselves cost on their own.
Apparently there’s an import tax of a few euro on everything that comes in from outside Ireland to encourage people to buy locally. OK, that’s fine. I can take that into account. What I’m annoyed at is the fact that UPS charges a 14 Euro fee on any tax they have to pay. They charge it for any amount up to 600 Euro so for a business that’s fine but it means I got screwed over from being on the lower end.
I’m just pissed off that between the company I bought these things from and the shipping company that delivered them I ended up paying about over 200% of the products cost. Why did I pay them shipping at all if I had to pay almost the same amount when I received it?!
Oh well. At lest I have some of my Christmas presents. Now to go wrap them.
(Never never using them again!)
