The pirate and the ninja glared at each other. Theirs was an ancient feud, neither would back down.

On the predetermined signal they leapt forward. The ninja moved with the style and grace of the deadliest assassin. Each strike timed with precision. But he was frustrated to notice that the pirate's drunken failings always moved him where he needed. The pirate laughed as he scored a perfect hit only to growl when the ninja did the same.

Neither were willing to admit defeat yet when they stepped back it was obviously a draw.

As they prepared to move forward to do battle again a voice rang out. “You guys have been playing DDR all day. Other people want a go.”

“All right, all right” the pirate grumbled, “I need a drink anyway.” As he stumbled off he yelled to the ninja “This isn’t over!”

The ninja bowed to his opponent and vanished in a cloud of smoke. This, indeed, was not over.
