Two done, three to go
May. 4th, 2011 11:30 pmProblems: The usual skipping of bits and misplaced words but nothing really big.
Our Egeus fluffed his lines at the start and had to start again but the poor guy is suffering from an absinthe so he’s in massive amounts of pain.
The only other major thing (for me anyway) is that my assistant put on the boxes at the wrong time and got caught on stage when the lights came on. Apparently one of the actors (the same actor, actually, who tried to ‘help’ last year with handing out props but didn't tell me so I was left running around trying to find them during a scene change when the actors already had them, needlessly stressing me out) told him it was his cue so he rushed on stage, and since I knew there was no scene change I had already cued the lights and he got caught. Nothing major in the grand scheme of things but annoying.
(The confusion arises because act 4 scene 2 got moved to in-between act 5 scene 1. A bit of confusion seems to be inevitable no matter who many times I have to explain cues to people.)
The audience seemed to like it and that’s the main thing.
And now to do it all again tomorrow.
