This guy on tumble had this idea for LifeScouts.
Basically it's like the getting boyscout badges but for life experiences. You blog a badge you've earned and share a story behind it. You can even buy actual badges.
I don't have a tumble, mainly because I waste enough time on the internet already, but I decided to do a few.
I've seen a few sunrises. I live on a part of the planet that in winter you don't have to get up too early for it to be still dark. I've also had to get up early to film a sunrise once, though it wasn't very impressive because of the rain. I've also seen the back end of the sunrise more then once (that is, staying up all nigh until the sun rises). The last two time were also because of film shoots.
But the fist time I actually remember the back end of dawn was my Debs. A group of us ended wondering around town waiting for someplace to open so we could get some food. We were staving. We couldn't even get MacDonald's because there wasn't a 24 hour one in town at the time.
It's one of the main things I remember about my debs, beside the terrible food they served (it had obviously been badly heated up in the microwave or something), wondering around town in a group with uncomfortable shoes eating jelly babies (when we found an open Centra) and noticing the light changing.
Not exactly a picturesque sunrise but the earliest one I remember with any story behind it.
