It’s bizarre.

The last few days have been dark and cloudy with occasional rain. Then today it’s suddenly blindingly sunny.

The thing about sunny days for film is that even though it does give a lot of light and you don’t need to worry about you equipment getting wet you do end up with troublesome shadows. Not only can it make one half of an actor too bright while you can’t see the other half, it also mucks up the continuity between shots as you can tell the time of day from the length of the shadows on the ground.

At least on cloudy days the light is even. Though any sky shots aren’t going to be very interesting.
