xt1meI don’t know why this was suggested for me but I ended up watching an episode of ‘101 Ways To Leave A Game Show’. I watched an episode of the US version as well (because it came up as one of the linked videos when it finished) just to compare the difference. It’s interesting to see. It’s not just that the US version has a bigger budget.
It’s certainly a unique premise. Get a question wrong and get kicked off the show in an interesting, and also terrifying, way. Generally it’s variations of behind propelled off a very high place.
The US version is more theatrical, vaguely pretending that the stunts could be real while the UK version uses the fact they're stunts (demonstrating the stunt with a crew member, getting into the safety gear) to add to the tension. Both styles work and of course the presenters help carry it.
Interesting TV show.
