I’m up to ep 118 now on Dice, Camera, Action.

I still haven’t caught up but I couldn’t resist looking up fic though I am trying to avoid spoilers.

It’s kind of hilarious that the payers have written fanfic for their own characters.

Not just back story either, Anna wrote a High School AU.

Before I read that I was actually thinking what a collage AU would be like.

Strix would be someone who didn’t pay go to college but was sitting in the back of classes & taking advantage of student stuff. She would be squatting with Diath, who she knew before, as she was technically homeless.

Diath would be a scholarship kid. Overly serious because he knew what was at stake. He’s always working so hard no one would ever expect him to be hiding/covering for Strix.

Paultain would be the dunk that goes to all the parties. Everyone always assumes someone else invited him & all the frat boys think he’s part of someone other frat. He comes across as such a uncaring ass no one realises he’s actually studying music pretty seriously.

Evelyn would be the student who, until now, had only ever gone to religious schools. Trying to find her place in the world, slightly naive but not as weak as she looked.

I then thought further how, as these are the waffle crew, their back stories would actually be much more darker then that.

My original idea for this AU was it to be something light-hearted.

So I was trawling though marksandrec & I started thinking about an AU idea w/ Marks & Jacks ego’s.

What if all the characters were part of a circus?
A creepy circus of course. And they’d still have freaky powers or whatever, but they’d still have to deal with putting on a show (I’ve worked enough back stage to know the types of shenanigans that pop up so this is something I’d love to read myself). I figure this would be set in the past at the height of the freak show craze just because of the complete lack of safety regulations. And then I thought that, well, I know I’m probably never going to write this but if I did I’d need a POV character. And I’ve been listening to a lot of songs from Natewantstobattle recently & he even has a song with a kind of barker exchange that would fit (I know it’s a FNaF song, but whatever). & fans treat the characters in his music vids like egos so I figured it would fit. Even though I really know absolutely nothing about the guy.

And then I ended up spending more time thinking of how the prologue w/ him would go then the original AU idea and acutlly ended up writing a fic:

So that works as a standalone I think but the rest of the circus idea was basically Natemare is wondering about trying figure out his shiny new powers when someone tries to rob him. He scares the guy so much he faints. This is how he discovers he needs fear and the nervousness of performers before an act isn’t going to cut it.

Maybe an info broker (MattPat) says he heard of a place looking for workers. Or maybe he hears someone yelling out to advertise a new show. A horror carnival. Called ‘Darks Dreadful Delight’s’ or something. The guy a has good voice for yelling (It’s Jacksepticeye) & has a patter down of all the acts guaranteed to thrill and terrify & all that stuff.

So Nate decides to go.

I’m not sure if I’d have Markiplier be the owner & have Dark the ringmaster or if I’d drop Mark & Jack altogether & just have their characters. If I did the latter the Jack would be Anti alias. If I did the former I properly have Anti possessing Jack or something. Idk.

Anyway, Natemare goes to see the show.

There’s preshow carnival stuff. Ed Edgar runs some of them. Chase Brody probably runs a ring toss. Bim Trimmer might run one of those rope ladder things. Since those are practically impossible.

There also a cabinet of curios kind of thing, which you pay to go in. It’s run by the Host. It’s got weird things like a green eyeball that swims in a tank and a tiny dancing little box. It’s got a ton of fakes like the stuffed Jackalope & the unicorn horn that’s actually from a narwhal. But it’s also got actual cursed items there as well. (One of them’s totally Nate’s old guitar he got when he was a kid. He doesn’t find that out until later though since he doesn’t go in, saving his money for the show itself.)

The show starts off w/ a warning from Dark that it not for the faint of heart. They take no responsibly of anyone dying of fright & such.

Since I’d say this fic would be set sometime around the early 1900s they’d have electric lighting by then, so they would have some sort or red & blue lights on him to (hide) give him his weird aura.

Wilford Warfstache who have some sort of gun/shooting performance. They defiantly get a volunteer from the audience for the finale & pop balloons around them. The crew always make sure that they the supply the guns for the act since they’re filled with blanks because if left to his own devises he would pull his own and his aim is sometimes not all that great (The balloons are actually popped by hidden pins that are pulled in place by someone backstage.) This doesn’t exactly help with Warfstache’s delusion that getting shot can’t kill you but he’s crazy anyway. There’s totally a bit at the end where he fires wildly & hits the band.

Jake/Anti is on the drums, (I think I’d get Jack to introduce himself as ‘a’ Jack since he’s a jack of all trades, filling in were needed in the circus. That’s where he’d get his name.)

Anti would make a big deal about almost being shot & swing over w/ a conveniently placed rope & chase after Warfstache all acrobatic like until getting his throat cut.

The audience would be left wondering a bit if that was part of the act.

The stage hands/clowns would be the Googles. They would be look like (actually be) machines. Elektro the was a robot on display in the 1939’s world fair so it’s not out of the possibility for acts to have something purporting to be similar around that time.

They would have a small act with the strict Googleplier ordering the others to set up between acts & Bingiplier would be the one messing up all the time & getting into trouble.

It’s serves as a distraction for the audience between acts for setting things up.

The slapstick would get harsher & harsher as the show would go on with the final set change ending w/ Goolgle ripping off Bings head.

Dr. Iplier & Dr. Schneeplestein would have some sort of mad scientist act w/ electricity. The tesla coil was made in 1891 so that could have sparks flying every were. The final of their act could be ‘bringing Anti back to life’. So he’d spend the rest of the night running after Warfstache. The finale of the whole show might be some fight that Dark interrupts or something.

Jackieboy Man & Silver Shepherd would have a high-wire trapezes act. There would be lots of bits where they almost fall but the finale would have a rope ‘break’ with some sort of last minute save. This would be yet another moment where the audience wasn’t sure if it was real or not. (It’s not, Silver Shepherd & Jackieboy Man are superheros from another dimension trapped here until someone from their home can come & get them. Jackieboy Man can fly & Silver Shepherd is invulnerable.)

Jameson Jackson has a mime act, maybe also sword swallowing & juggling, King of Squirrels has an animal (squirrel of course) act, Marvin The Magnificent has a magic act.

I don’t know if the Jims are conjoined twins or have some sort of acrobatic act.

Robbie would be a contortionist.

Maybe Bim could do double duty & have one of those acts where he eats nails & glass and stuff.

The Host has a mentalist act where he reads the audience & spills their secrets. The really bad secures he would just allude to enough for them to get really nervous about. It might be similar how mediums & spiritualist acts go. (In some shows in the past he scared people with deep dark secrets so much that they’d come back after the show to try and silence him forever. All of those people ‘mysteriously’ disappeared.)

The whole show would get more & more violent & disturbing throughout the night. The audience would be left guessing how much of it was real or not. The performers would all tread a thin line between scaring the living daylights out of everyone & not actually starting a mob, so they don’t get chased out of town.

The end of the night when they all take their bow is usually enough for the audience to feel like it was all just a good show but they all secretly be leave with an uneasy doubt about it.

As usual I don’t have a plot for this. Nate comes back the next day & gets hired as a musician. Dark & Anti realise he’s practically a baby w/ his demon powers.

The rest would be just everyone introducing themselves & what their deals are & all the acts & stuff.

Maybe other youtubers are there.

If I was to throw the Sanders Side in there it's probably as a bunch of ghost that hunt the 'Sanders Theater', one of the place they preform in, or something.

Even the best show is like a swan, gliding along for the audience but back stage everyone’s furiously paddling to stay afloat.

I like the idea that demonic powers really don’t help w/ that as much as you’d think.

Ok, that outline for this has been sitting on my computer for about a year now, I think it’s safe to say I’m not going to get around to making a full story out of it.

I might as well flesh it out & just post it.

I'd been doing so good posting something once a week & then I completely let myself down last week.
I could have just posted a Happy St. Patrick's Day message or something.

At least I have something for this week.

I was recently reminded that Marvel’s 1602 exists. Back when I first read it I had an idea for a fic. Since that was literally years ago it’s obvious I’m never going to write it so here it is.

Since I’m on a Sanders Sides kick lately let’s do a superhero AU.

I like the idea of them all getting their powers a different way. One inheriting his, one being born w/ them, one making his & one have them forced on him.

I’m going to go with the generic Hero names of Prince, Pathos, Logic & Anxiety. If I was actually writing this I’d try to find better names, but since I’m not I figure I don’t have to bother.

I recently caught up on RWBY (I have a friend who’s big into it) & since the last fic I wrote was for the Sanders Sides let’s have a good old crossover idea.

(& yes, I have read PRVL by AuthorAlex97 (Sweetie_Curfy), so while I may unconsciously be influenced I am doing my own thing so this should be different)

So this is definitely never going to get written because it’s an idea for a sequel to an idea I’ll also never write.
So it’s doubly never going to exists.

I thought of some of this when I had my last idea & some of it when I was writing ‘Sam’s Story’.

I also liked the idea of tulpas someone online had to explain the egos.

Stream of consciousness style seemed to work the last time so let’s try this.

When walking in the woods playing Pokémon Go and you come across a fariyring, don't try & capture the Pokémon that appears there.
Especially if it seems to keep glitching out.

EDIT:

I also have a vague idea about Jack's tattoos since his first one Bold Hunter's Mark from the Bloodborne which in the game allows you to warp back to the last fire without losing anything important & his second one is a sigil from Shadow of the Colossus a week-point but meant to contain the essences of the bad guy within the colossi.

But I have no idea how to tie that into anything so that's not going anywhere.

I’m hesitant to make New Year’s resolutions since I never end up sticking to them but in the interests of self-improvements I’m going to try and write more.
This didn’t really work out the last time I tried it but in the since anything is better than nothing I’m just going to see how it goes.

So to start with I figured I should actually write down all the ideas I have for fics that I know I’ll never write instead of just leaving them in my head & forgetting them.

Let’s see how it goes.

So that’s that. I’m never going to flesh this out. I really don’t have the mental stamina for it & I don’t think I can make it creepy enough.

I don’t know if I’m going for Anti taking over Jack or being summoned or if he was actually Jack all along but whatever. He’s defiantly the only one allowed to mess w/ Jack though.

As fic ideas goes this one at least had a plot. And even a sort of ending

Check Please! is another web-comic I recently read though.
I read it once years back before it went on hiatus & forgot about it but I recently read though it again & caught up to where it is now.

Then, of course, I when to find fic to read.

Then I wrote this:

Johnson’s power is that of forth-wall breaking of course.

So if this were to exist the prologue would be the infinity war (I decided to write this idea now before this gets jossed). With a bunch of all powerful objects presumably blasting things there would be a lot of weird energy flung around. And since there is both a time and a space stone this energy could go literally anywhere. Of course most of space and time isn't all that interesting. No-one cares if a powerful energy source appeared in empty space just after the dawn of time only to disappear again centuries before life develops anywhere. Or if a lost civilization appears for a split second to fast for anything to register. But eventually something's going to hit something.
So the prologue would end with a rock, more of as chunk of old brick really, hit with enough energy to exist in to times at once. Something that's only noticed by 2 kids, one in 1930 something and one in 1990 something (or there abouts) when each of them happed to be in the same back ally in Brooklyn.

So this story would be about modern Bucky meeting past Steve. From Bucky's point of view it would one of the child-finds-a-secret-world stories, never mind that the secret world is the past (after all the past is another country right?) and for Steve it would be a person-visits-from-an-other-word story, because the future is weird. I figure Steve can visits the future for a bit but gets sick real fast. Bucky can stay in the past for ages but starts to fade too after awhile. They never figure out if it's just because Steve is physically weaker the Bucky or if it's just easier to go back then forward. They have all these theories but they're only guessing.
Obviously they would have lots of adventures. I figure Bucky would swipe medication for Steve from the future once he understands how sick he was (never mind the fact that your not supposed to just give people medicine without doctor approval) including an inhaler he either traded from a classmate or sole from. The also hatch a scheme to get Steve vaccinated by slipping him in with his classmates to take the place of a kid whose patent didn't want them to get the jab but never gave the paperwork to the teacher for the exemption. Or maybe just robed a needle.
I'd say Sarah finds out eventually but it's saving her kids life so she goes with it.

So the two grow up as friends. Bucky doesn't have to explain much to people in his time because he usually goes to Steve's but people know he has a friend how can't go out much on some other street. To Steve's neighbours Bucky's around enough that they just assume his family just lives around somewhere.

Then angst happens.

Maybe Bucky's parents die so he tried to stay in the past but that doesn't work.
Sarah does die, so the only people who know about their situation is the 2 of them.
Bucky feels bad because he's from the future, he should have looked things up or something. Buts they've had talks about it before (because Bucky's defiantly a sci-fi nerd. And come on, time travel) and Steve says it's not fair on Bucky to know that kind of the thing, and Steve defiantly doesn't want to know. So Bucky promises to never tell Steve what will happen and avoids anything about history if possibly.
WWII happens and Bucky is inspired by Steve's continuous F4's to join the army in his time, plus he doesn't know what else to do with his life. He spend his leave with Steve and they work out to send messages or letter with the stone or something.

Steve becomes Captain America. Bucky only meets Steve once like this when he's doing the stage show thing and is shocked and terrified. He might have been avoiding history but everyone knows Captain America, it's one of these pop culture things. And while he may not have paid attention to the details Cap is pretty famous for how he dies. Steve is upset about not getting to fight and Bucky's silently panicking so lets slip that he rescues the 107th (something he only remembered the name of because it was the unit Steve's Dad was in). Bucky clams up after that and Steve doesn't push because the both made a promise not to try and mess with the timeline (so much sic-fi has warnings about the dangers of this so they desperately try not to). Steve also pretty happy now to know he will make a difference so he misses how off Bucky is.
Bucky goes back to his time and simultaneously tries to remember everything he's ever heard about Cap and desperately not go look it all up. He figures the less he knows the less likely he'll ether break time or make a self fulfilling prophecy.

He and his unit go to deal with an uncover weapons cash that turns out to have ancient weapons form WWII. Hydra weapons. Hydra weapons power by the tesseract, also known as the Space stone.

I don't know if I want them to be attacked or have the tesseract energy react to the little time stone Bucky has but something happens. Maybe a Hydra agent inside Shield shows up and tries to wipe out the team as a cover up. Whatever it is, Bucky gets sent back to Steve time but not to Steve.

He ends up in the battle where Hydra capture the 107th. (like calling to like with the Hydra weapons.) Since he landed in mud and it's night no-one really notices him and he dumps his out of place modern gear as soon as he realises what's happening. The 107th surrender to Hydra, he's got nowhere to run and is obviously American so gets lumped in with them. There are a lot of prisoners from different groups at the camp so no one questions it much. Bucky is hopeful because he knows Cap come here but he's also scared because he doesn't know if he'll die before that & if Hydra finds out about him he'll be worse then dead. The stone also isn't working so he's stuck here.

Steve find out about the 107th and trusts Bucky to never steer him wrong so goes to rescue them. He can't fully explain why he needs to but Peggy has his back so he heads off like in the movie. Since he comes back with his best friend people figure out that's why he went.

Steve, of course, is shocked to find Bucky strapped to the table and worried that he can't go back to his own time. The Howlies figure something's up but with so many prisoners lost paperwork is put down for not finding his records and none of them say a word otherwise.
They properly find out the truth, also Peggy. Maybe Howard too, I don't know.

Bucky falls as usual but I'm not sure if he gets caught by Hydra again or not.
Maybe when he's falling the stone finally works again or crumbles into dust as it's power finally gives out putting people back in their proper places.

So Bucky gets back to were he was. If it wasn't Hydra that attacked he get cleaned up by the Military and gets an honourable discharge. He no longer has the stone so he can't go back to Steve but maybe he tracks down the Howlies that are still alive and isn't so alone.
But if Hydra was the one to attack that might try again to cover it up so he goes and disappears tying to find out just how deep the corruption goes. Maybe he becomes the Winter Solider that way.

Either way when Steve wakes up in the future he adapts faster that people thought. He's not going to let them know Bucky showed him tech and stuff before.
After the battle of New York, when the whole world knows he's alive, he's just setting at a cafe, sketching, when Bucky sits next to him.

Maybe they just confuse everyone with being such good friends even though no-one can figure out why. Or maybe they go out to secretly clean up Shield.
Either way they're back together and on even footing and I can't think of what else would happen so, The end.

I was watching some of Game Grumps, which got me listening to songs from Starbomb and Ninja Sex Party. And then I started thinking about what would happen if Starbomb ended up in Hogwarts. It's not something I'll ever write of course. YouTube personalities are way to close to RPF which isn't something I'm comfortable with. But I couldn't help but try and figure out what wands the three of them would have.

( This really was a colossal waste of time but I did learn a bit about woods )

I'm only doing the members of Starbomb because if I tried doing the rest of the Grumps it would never end.

This is total crack but: Dr Dolittle (or one of his decedents) arrives at Jurassic World. Probably before the movie. Maybe they're part of a team to check to make sure the dinosaurs are being treated well. Maybe they work there. Heck, maybe Barry's last name is actually Dolittle. (And he's constantly amazed how well Owen gets the raptors despite the fact they can't speak to each other).
The point is, being a Dolittle means all animals sound like they're speaking English. But these are dinosaurs, so they sound like they're speaking old English.

Maybe the T-rex is speaking like Shakespeare or the Apatosaurus talk like something out of Pride & Prejudice. I have this really bizarre image of the raptors talking like pirates & calling Owen captain.

This is utter crack and as I can in no way write accents or dialects I'm never going to write this.

Well more like an excuse to have ever possible character met all at once.

This has been sitting on my computer for a weeks waiting for me to edit it and post it.
It's about time I stuck it up here.

Sometime after the end of BtVS three (unnamed OC) magic users stumble across an apocalypse that everyone managed to miss. With a wave of invincible enemies about to be summoned they're going to need help. But where can they get an army in just two days?
(I really hope this is understandable)

I got the idea for this when I was watching con videos on YouTube.

What I'd really like would be for this to inspire someone else to write what happens next.
Ideally lots of people.

I had a dream that after Rita was defeated all of the Putties started following the pink ranger around because the pink energy was the closest to Rita magical energy so she was now their queen.
I don't know what happened then 'cause I woke up.

What's that about?

(I haven't watched Power Rangers since I was a kid but I did read a fic the other day.)

I got to lie in today (which was nice) and I started thinking; there's an argument to be made for low tech weapons in sci-fi settings.

When everyone is living in spaceships having weapons around that'll rupture the hull doesn't do you any good because everyone one would know you would never dare use it.
You could, of course, develop lasers and blasters with variable settings. But while people are great at coming up with new and inventive ways of bashing other people in the face, they are also lazy. Mankind has spent centuries developing weapons, they're not going to forget all that just because they're in space.

The old style revolvers in Firefly make sense when you realise the softer lead bullets won't get though armoured hulls like a more destructive weapon would.
Even more primitive sub-sonic weapons like crossbows would make sense. They'd still mess up a person but wouldn't make though even the thinner inner walls in a spaceship so there's little chance of the taking out, say, the life-support systems accidentally.

Going further, space is a premium in space. Any empty room would have to be filled with air to make it inhabitable. Air that has to be stored or generated. As a result, even now, every available surface in a space ship would have something on it. Even in the future and on the more expensive crafts I imagine that there would twisting corridors. As a result, ranged weapons become less useful. Also since manoeuvrability would be more useful then armour, knifes, daggers and even short swords would become more useful.
Not even the fancy kind. Because, lets face it, lightsabers are cool and all but one wrong move in a fight and say hello to explosive decompression.

Just something to think about

A fic idea I had for a different take on the x-men.

I’ve read AU’s were they’re not mutants or where they are no such thing but I don’t think I’ve read one were they all have their powers but at there lowest level.

( Going just with the original x-men I was thinking something like this )

I just thought it would be interesting to see them work as a team (or not) when they don’t have the power to take down armies. They’re still mutants so they could still be gathered to learn about their powers but the fact that they not so powerful means the fate of the world wouldn’t be on their shoulders. Or maybe it would and they’re just be woefully under equipped.

I have no idea what kind of story to tell though.

Alternatively I’d like to see a fic where mutants exist but none of them have strong flashy powers. Like they’re all at the level of TV psychics or something. So week you could get away with not believing they exist.

I think it would be an interesting idea to explore but I wouldn’t know where to being.
