Messing with moodboards
Feb. 14th, 2021 05:29 pmAll you have to do is think of a vague theme & find some pic that fit it.
I decided to try for something more ambitions then usual & try my had a doing moving gifs match with static images. I foolishly thought it'd be easy.
And maybe it would have been if I had the right software.
I decided to do playing cards. I picked one of each face card along with the Ace so I could do 4 cards for the 4 suits. I know you can get another version of the 4 suits to match tarot cards you can also match the 4 elements to a suit as well.
So I had my theme: King of Diamonds, coins & earth; Queen of Clubs, wands & fire; Jack of Hearts, cups & water & Ace of Spades, sword & air.
I picked the king of dimonds becuse it's the only king on a traditional pack that's shown in profile so it's more distinct then the others.
I pick the Ace of spade because it's the fanciest looking ace in a traditional pack.
I picked jack of hearts because jack of hearts is a thing.
And that left the queen to be clubs.
It wasn't too hard to find cool gifs to use, the only thing I made sure of was to avoid pintest. (I dislike pinterst on principle because it makes it impossible to find sources. Also you can't scroll thought it without joining which I refuse to do)
I photoshopped what I wanted my frame to be and then tried to find an easy way to add the gifs.
I could not find an easy way.
I couldn't find any free software that's just add them together how I wanted so I tried to convert them to video to edit them & then convert it back to a gif.
I used ezgif.com to convert them & it worked ok but it kept dropping frames or cutting of the end of the gifs making them choppy.
I managed to make something functional but I wasn't really happy with it so I caved and just split all the gifs into frames & transferred them into GIMP to work on them individually & them combined them how I wanted.
It took ages.
Remind me to do these the easy way from now on & just pick up some gifs & post them together.
Anyway, here's how they turned out (assists I used can be found in links on my deviantart)
