Walking to the bus-stop at night

Today was the second time a football has gone flying over the fence from the spots centre while I was waiting for a bus.

What’s the Etiquette for that? I can’t leave it on the road, obviously, but there’s no way I can kick it back over the fence properly so it will reach the field.

Maybe they shouldn’t have built a football pitch so near to a road.
